An apartment block with automated vehicle gates had no practical way for residents to open them. Flextec Limited installed the Command Unit, delivering reliable phone-based entry without changing the infrastructure.
Although the gates were already automated, there wasn’t a convenient way for residents or staff to open them. The goal was simple phone-based entry that worked with the existing system, and avoided key fobs or added complexity.
Why the Command Unit?
Flextec selected the Command Unit to provide dial-to-open access using residents’ phones.
This removed the need for physical credentials while allowing the new access method to integrate directly with the existing gate relay. Previous experience with the product also meant the installer could deliver a predictable and efficient installation.
Fast Installation on Existing Infrastructure
The Command Unit was connected directly to the existing gate relay and activated using a Commtel SIM. Authorised users were then added allowing them to open the gates by simply calling the system.
Because the infrastructure was already in place, installation focused purely on enabling access rather than modifying the gate setup itself.
